There are still many books and things about the holocaust, because if we just stop retelling it then everyine will forget everything about it. If we forget about it, then we might forget about it and do the same mistake again. If we forget about it, and retell it just through stories, it might become a folktale that no one cares about. if the holocaust turns into a folktale then it would be just like a normal story, if people think of the holocaust as normal story, then the intensity and sorrow for the jews at that time will be lost, and poeple won't take it seriously anymore. This serious and extreme event might turn into a little story.

Anne and Peter both have teenage reactions for their families. They both want to stay away from their families. Normally, teenagers rely on their friends to talk to and share their secrets with but in the Annex, they don't have anyone their age to talk to. This might be the reason why Anne loves her diary so much, because it is like someone she can talk to or a friend who would keep all your secrets. We know that she loves her diary because we see in the movie that she tells her diary that she loves it.

there was conflict when Anne and Mrs Frank argued and Anne thought she was being treated unfairly. All the other members of the family were comparing her to Margot everytime she did something wrong. Anne and Mrs Dan Vaan had a conflict when Anne accidently spilt something on her coat. Peter and Anne had a conflist because Anne was being a bit childish by hiding his shoes and Peter annoyed her by teaseing her about her loud voice.
If these conflicts get harsher and bigger, the annex won't survive and everyone in the annex wil e sent to concentration. The congregation of people in the annex rely on each other's trust to survive. If just one of them decides to give them in, then they will all die. If there is voilence, there will be lot's of sound and the people living near might hear and report them.

I think the hardest part of being in the Annex would be the fear that you might get caught at any time. Having to worry every day at evey moment would be hard. Even if you want to be confident, you can't because the thought of, even making a little mistake could be the death of you. Not being able to do this because of the fear of being caught might make you think about the other kids. The other kids could do this without even fearing while you couldn't do things with fear. The 'things' is like being able to run around, make noise, go outside, and lots of other things.

There should be no bolts and walls in someone's mind. Anyone should be able to think of what they want to think about without any abuse of complications. A mind should run freely and no one should even dare to obstruct them from doing so. The Jews were abused a lot and they weren't even able to think about what they wanted to think. An example is, when they thought that the new laws in treating jews were wrong, they would be taken away and put into labor camps.

Dramatic irony

There is Dramatic irony in this play because we already know what is going to happen. At the moment, she is scared and she doesn't know when she will get caught. We know how and exactly when she will get caught. The dramatic irony increases as the time when Anne Frank really gets caught. At the moment just before she gets caught, you know that she will get caught so you want to shout and give her a warning to jump out the window and escape of something.

the theme

At the moment, the play's theme is Anne Frank's loneliness in the secret annex. Anne Frank has no friends with her in the Annex and she doesn't have anyone to play with. Everyone in the annex, except for her, was an adult. She couldn't run around because it might create suspicion to the family next door. As a child, Anne Frank had to live in fear that someone could and might give them into the Nazis.

What did you already know about pejudice

the only thing i knew about Prejudice was, 'pride and prejudce' but i haven't read it yet or seen the movie.I asked this guy in my dorm and he told me that prejudice was what you think, or a theory. This thought or theory might not be true though. Prejudice occured when Hitler thought the Jews were the problem. Because Hitler thought this, he killed as many Jews as he could.

What do you already know about the Holocaust

I didn't learn anything about this... probably because i went to school England. I typed it on Wikipedia and found that it is the group of people in WWII who were Jewish.

character development

Yoko, the main character in the story changes a lot during her journey from North Korea to Japan and her life in hard conditions when her mother dies. In North Korea she wasn't very spoilt but her life is extremely spoilt compared to her life in Japan. We have evidence that she was spoilt when she refuses to share her blanket with the pregnant women on the train. After a few arguments with her mother, she finally shares it with her. I think this was her first step to being like the way she is in Japan. She goes on her journey where she starts to care about others more. She helps gather food on their journey and instead of eating it herself, she shares it with other food, this might not sound very hard to us because we have a lot of food but she had been starving for days. When she does arrive in Japan, her mother dies and she and her sister are put into a tight situation. They have to live on their own and KO can’t support both their lives. At Yoko’s age, I would probably just whine and refuse to do anything and stay depressed, but Yoko helps her sister a lot and she works hard to please her. This shows that she cared for her sister and not just her own laziness. An example is that when it was New Year’s Day, she bought lots of good quality food for a change to celebrate the festival; she didn’t have much money so she used the money that she was saving up to buy shoes. I think this is a great act of compassion because she was working really hard to buy those shoes. This also shows that she had sacrificed her own labor, gathering the money, and her own comfort, new shoes, for KO.

so far from the bamboo grove

the book started kind of ok.. but it got really boring around the middle, but the parts that im reading now is really fun. there are lot's of parts that are very exciting like the time when mother died and the twist when they have a really poor life and suddenly wins a prize and the get lots of money. yoko started babyish and only caring about herself in the beggining like the time when she didn't even want to share with the new mother with the baby. now, after a few months, she is really grown up and she doesn't live with her parents. she cares for other people now, she helps her sister and she helps around with the work instead of just leaving it for ko. she thinks about her sister, it tells us this when she uses the money that she was saving up to buy her shoes to get expensive food for the new years celebration.

courage

my dad isn't good at changing diapers. my mum was out with a conferance and my sister was nearly 2 years old. my dad had to change my sisters diapers, so he started to change it.there was a phone call so my dad went to get it. this was the first time that he changed my sister's diapers so he didn't know what my sister would do if he left her alone. he just went off to the without giving a thought. he didn't close the diaper so my sister began to see what was inside. i thought she would do something weird so i put the diaper in the bin.this was couragous because i did something that i didnt want to do but i needed to do it.
